Hoos London Gin
Dry and aromatic at the same time – that is the idea behind Hoos London Gin, which Heiko Hoos distils in extremely small batches of just 120 bottles each in Karlsruhe.
Produced using the traditional London gin method, it combines 15 fresh and dried herbs. In addition to the usual juniper berries, coriander, lemon and orange zest, marjoram, lemon balm, pine buds, sweet fennel, camomile and cardamom seeds also develop their aroma.
In combination with pHenomenal Tonic, this results in an expressive gin & tonic in which the delicate pine note resonates.
This assertive gin also works really well in a gimlet.
Instead of stirred in the English tradition with lime cordial, we make the classic
the American way: shaken and with fresh lime juice
Gimlet (shake)
50 ml Hoos London Dry Gin
30 ml lime juice
20 ml sugar syrup (1.5 parts sugar : 1 part water)
Shake vigorously in a shaker over ice cubes, then double strain into a frosted cocktail glass using a strainer and bar strainer
