The Negroni is a classic Italian cocktail with a bitter-sweet taste. According to current research, it was invented by Count Camillo Negroni who, around 1919, asked his bartender Fosco Scarselli for a little more oomph in his Americano (red bitter + red vermouth) and was given a shot of gin to go with it. <\/p>\n

Since the renaissance of cocktail culture in the early noughties, the Negroni has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and there are countless variations and twists. Our version, a pHenomenal NEGRONI our style, was originally developed as a customer gift for our friend LEWIN Men’s Tailoring<\/a>. <\/p>\n

It is made with the great Eversbusch double juniper<\/a> from Hagen\/ Haspe, an Italian amaro based on artichokes and our house blend of various vermouths. Even the orange zest is included. <\/p>\n

To serve, simply pour 6 to 10cl into a tumbler glass over three to four ice cubes (or one large one). Done. Sip slowly and experience the change in texture as the ice slowly melts. <\/p>\n

For us, a Negroni works best with a juniper-infused gin; the amaro and vermouth components already bring delicate herbal compositions, hence the decision to use Eversbusch Doppelwachholder<\/a> as the basis. We know of no better. <\/p>\n

These are the tasting notes of the Falstaff bottled cocktail trophy from 15.08.2025:<\/p>\n

“Very strong, fresh juniper notes on the nose, fine notes of orange and wormwood, followed by subtle fruit and tart nuances. Soft and velvety on the palate. A slight bitterness paves the way for notes of juniper, fine herbs, juniper and orange. Fine fruit and a subtle sweetness in the gently tart finish.” <\/p>\n
